Our Funeral Directors.

Howard W. Creran Jr., NJ Lic. No. 3359 Howard was born and raised in Oaklyn, above the Creran Funeral Home, where his mother still resides. Howard is a 1974 graduate of Collingswood High School. He is also a 1977 graduate of Mercer County Community College, Mortuary Science Program. Earning his funeral director license in 1978. NJ Lic. No. 3359. Howard began working for his father and Mr. Etherington at Creran and Etherington Funeral Homes as an apprentice in 1975, and as a licensed funeral director in 1978.

Married since 1980 to Maureen, they have four children and reside in Haddonfield. From 1982 to 1998 Howard was a Medical Investigator with the Camden County Medical Examiners Office. In 1983 Howard and his father purchased the Etherington Funeral Home from Mr. Etherington. In 1986 Howard became the sole owner of Creran Funeral Home, and in 1998 he became the sole owner of Etherington Funeral Home, incorporating these two funeral homes under Creran Inc.

Howard is involved in many different organizations in Oaklyn and Gloucester City. A member of Gloucester City Small Business Association, and former member of the Board of Directors. Member and past president of the Gloucester City Rotary Club, The Lion's Club of Oaklyn, The Revelers, and lecturer at St. Aloysius RC Church.

Professional organizations include: member of the West Jersey Funeral Directors Association, New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. Trustee of the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, and a member of the Long Range Planning committee of the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association.


Lisa Metzger-Sciamanna, RN, BSN NJ Lic. No. 4440 Born and raised in Gloucester City, Lisa attended St. Mary's Grammar School and is a 1978 graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School. After graduation Lisa began her career in nursing. Starting as an LPN from Salem Community College in 1980, she worked at Underwood Memorial Hospital fro 1980 - 1984. During this time she also continued her nursing education at Our Lady of Lordes School of Nursing, graduating in 1984 as an RN. At this time Lisa took a position at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in the Cardiac Care Unit, and worked there from 1985 - 2002. While working at OLOLMC she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University in 1989.

In 1998 Lisa began the Mortuary Science Program at Mercy County Community College and graduated in 2000. She served her apprenticeship at Etherington and Creran Funeral Home beginning in 1999 and stayed with the funeral homes after earning her Funeral Director license in 2001. NJ Lic. No. 4440.

Married since 1983 to Jeff they have two children and reside in Deptford Township. Parishioners of St. John Vianney Church, their children attend St. Agnes Regional Grammar School, and Gloucester Catholic High School.

Professional memberships include West Jersey Funeral Directors Association, New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. Lisa is also a member and past treasurer of St. Agnes PTA, member of Gloucester City Rotary Club, and a Committee member and treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 77 in Blackwood.

Patricia McConney Office manager at Etherington and Creran Funeral Homes since 1996. Pat manges all the case files, insurance paperwork, funeral home accounts, payroll and receptionist responsibilities.

A graduate of Triton High School, Pat worked for Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company from 1971 - 1986. She worked in the Law Department, Human Resources, and the Steward Agency.

Married since 1976 to Chuck, they have three children and one grandchild. Pat resides in Oaklyn.
